learn more about Eugenias path and bring your questions for the Q and A!
Eugenia Mello is a Brooklyn based award-winning illustrator, art director, and author from Buenos Aires, Argentina. She graduated from the School of Visual Arts with an MFA in Illustration, where she now teaches narrative illustration herself.Â
She has applied her vivid, textured and dynamic work to collaborations with many notable clients such as Apple, Nike, MTV, Patagonia, The New York Times, Etsy, and the Guggenheim Museum.
her visual language makes her projects shine, whether they are in the shape of murals, part of window displays, on chocolate packaging or in a book.
And she illustrated multiple books! In 2020 her debut picture book ‘ Moving’ was published, which she authored herself and reflects on the emotional stressors involved with moving to another country.Â
Her roots in latin America, her quest to foster and nurture belonging, especially among female and minority-led communities, seem to be the undercurrent of both her work as an illustrator, as well as an art director (Enchanted Lion Books), educator ( SVA and Queens College) and a member of the illustration community, for example when she serves in the jury of design and illustration competitions. like the Adc awards and the society of illustrators, where she is a board member.
I know her through friends, from running into her at book readings and parties where talking to her always elevates my mood!
I am so excited for you to meet her! see you soon!!
Hugs!
Karlotta
